Coronation Street enthusiasts might be bracing themselves for some emotional turmoil in the life of a familiar face on the cobbles. During Thursday's episode, Kevin Webster, played by Michael Le Vell, was dealt a devastating blow from the hospital.
Earlier in the year, Kevin underwent surgery to remove a testicle after discovering a lump and receiving a diagnosis of testicular cancer.
Upon returning to the hospital for his test results, he was informed by the consultant that the cancer had spread, they told him:"I'm sorry to say that the cancer is present in your lymph nodes. That is, we found it elsewhere."
Despite his internal struggle with the diagnosis, Kevin attempts to keep things normal, urging his wife Abi (played by Sally Carmen) to attend her therapy session. Yet, tensions are brewing over her growing friendship with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), who is dating Kevin's sister.
Kevin noticed Abi and Ronnie chatting amiably in the cafe, which seemed to bother him. When he later asked about her whereabouts earlier that day, Abi didn't mention her encounter with Ronnie, reports Lancs Live.
The situation escalated when Ronnie later visited their home, as he engaged in light-hearted banter with Abi, Kevin watched from the couch. After Ronnie's departure, Abi praised him to Kevin, saying: "He's so lovely isn't he? I tell you what, Debbie's got a good one with him."
Fans have been voicing their concerns over the latest developments in Coronation Street, particularly around Kevin and Abi's relationship. One viewer expressed on social media, saying: "Poor Kevin getting paranoid..! Don't ruin you and Abi #Corrie he's your brother-in-law."
Another fan asked: "Why are they throwing so much s**t at Abi and Kevin?!" Someone else commented: "Why do I feel as though Abbie is going to cop off with Ronnie?"

Last year, Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks teased that there would be challenges ahead for the couple. Speaking to Digital Spy, she revealed: "We want to tell this really truthfully. We've been working closely with Macmillan to make sure that we tell the story right. Ultimately, it's about Kevin and Abi's relationship and testing that relationship.
"Abi is going through her own situation as she struggles with the aftermath of [Mason's death]. She loves Kevin, and he loves her, but temptation comes Abi's way."
