Coronation Street actor Ben Price has shared a humorous anecdote about being snubbed by his child's teacher after his profession came up in conversation.
During a revealtion on the On The Sofa podcast with co-stars Colson Smith and Jack P. Shepherd, Ben revealed the awkward encounter that took place at a parents' evening event.
Ben, who portrays Nick Tilsley on the popular ITV soap, explained that the incident occurred while visiting the school's media department, which offers students the opportunity to create their own podcasts.
As Ben recounted the story, he said: "Did I tell you I got blanked? Got completely blanked at the school... what's it called? Teachers, parent-teachers...", prompting Colson to reply: "Parents' evening? Is that not on the Zoom anymore? " Ben continued: "No, no; we went in old school".

He went on to explain: "I think it was some media or something. One of them's doing some media-type course and they've got a podcast bit in it. No, no, no. I was like, I don't wanna do that. I don't wanna be the dad that goes, 'Haha, well I think I know what I'm doing here'.", reports Lancs Live.
Ben's wife then mentioned his podcasting experience, but the teacher remained unimpressed. Ben joked: "My wife went, 'Oh yeah; well, you know, my husband can help with that, you know, he's got a podcast or whatever'; complete blank. Literally not interested. Literally, as far as they were concerned, it was a podcast with three listens which I did on my own, on my own laptop.
"He literally went, 'How nice'. What do you mean, 'How nice? ' Mate, what do you mean, 'How nice? ' It gets hundreds of thousands of listens; not, 'How nice'."

Ben recently shared his experiences of living with Colson and witnessing firsthand the growth of his co-star. His reflections came to light during a discussion on the announcement of Colson's character Craig Tinker's departure from Coronation Street.
In fact, Colson has also lived with Jack, who said: "I have to teach him about life and things, and I do his washing. He's like my little project - my nickname is 'Dad'."
After Jack moved out in June 2019 to live with his now fiancee, Colson was in need of a new flatmate, which led to him moving in with Ben until he eventually purchased his own property.
Reflecting on their time together on an earlier podcast episode, Ben commented: "To put it into context, when I'm talking about jobs starting and ending, I'm only on that job for five months with those people. I'm not in their lives from 12 to 26 - living with them, seeing their first girlfriend, first car, all those things... I've seen all of that in your life so I really know you, Cols."
