Kellie Bright, who portrays Linda Carter in EastEnders, has been part of some of the most challenging and controversial storylines the soap has ever seen. However, she revealed on the Off the Telly podcast that there was one simple scene she refused to perform.

During the show's 40th anniversary live broadcast, Kellie was supposed to toss a coin as part of her character's decision-making process. "When we first got the script, I was supposed to actually take out a coin – because it's all about Denise making her decision. – I was supposed to then go on and toss the coin, and catch the coin," she explained.

The pressure of rehearsing the scene "as live," caused her to worry about messing up the coin toss, leading her to request a change in the script before the live broadcast. "Don't do that to me," she joked, revealing that she had two spare 50p coins in her pocket in case she dropped the first one.

"I can't toss a coin for toffee anyway," Kelly admitted, "and I thought 'My hands will be sweaty, shaking', there was just no way."

Consequently, Kellie suggested to the director that Denise interrupt Linda before the crucial coin-toss. She confessed: "I can't do that. I can't do that live. I mean, even if we were recording that, I'd probably have to do it ten times", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Another worrying moment unfolded on EastEnders when Kellie's character was scripted to say "tits" during the broadcast. Addressing fan queries wondering if it was an unintentional slip, Kellie took to her Instagram page with a photo of the script: "I posted a script that said my line and I said 'I hate to tell you, but it was definitely in the script'."

Following this, Natalie recounted a related anecdote from her time on the show regarding the scriptwriters' tendency to incorporate colloquial yet somewhat risqué phrases.

Recalling a scene involving an emergency birth at the Queen Vic following another calamity, she shared that her character, Sonia Fowler, went into early labour, leading to a spat between Lauren Branning (played by Jacqueline Jossa) and Bianca Jackson (portrayed by Patsy Palmer) about who should handle the imminent childbirth. Natalie's initial line "It's only a fanny," was notably softened to "it's only a noonie" just before filming commenced.
