Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd came to the "rescue" of his co-star Colson Smith after an "dramatic" car breakdown.
Jack, who has played David Platt since 1997, was due to head on a trip to Leeds with friend and Corrie co-star Colson Smith. But PC Craig Tinker star Colson revealed he was stuck when his car broke down.
On their On the Sofa podcast, Colson, who is due to leave Corrie later this year, revealed his car suffered a broken suspension spring. It happened as he met up with former Big Brother stars David Potts and Brad Riches.
Colson, 26, said: "We met up in a pub in the middle of nowhere, but the drama was, when I got there, I was like, 'Lads, my car is broke' and my car was making a really dodgy noise. I had a mechanic come around on Monday at 10pm at night.
"The mechanic thinks I might have broken a suspension spring. Not great, so it's parked on the drive and can't be driven."

"I had to ring little Jacky P up and say 'Any chance of a lift to Leeds' and he said yeah. He came to my rescue, he picked me up, the windows were down, the heated seat was on, and the tunes were blaring."
Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley and also hosts the podcast, expressed concern that the car trouble could end up costing Colson "thousands". Despite the setback, the duo's journey to promote their live On the Sofa show in Leeds was not without its own mishaps, as Colson's navigation skills proved less than reliable, reports Lancs Live.
Colson shared his strict approach to navigation: "My rule is we don't use a sat nav, I pride myself on my knowledge of roads, so we got in the car and Jack said, 'Do you know where we're going', and I said 'yeah, left, right, left'."
Jack chimed in with his experience: "Yeah, I had to ask him every time, it's not like he gave me a bit of warning."

It led to an unfortunate moment when the pair found themselves confronted head-on with a bus. Jack recounted: "We were coming out of a multi-storey and he said, 'Just get in your right-hand lane, go round these and get in your right-hand lane'."
"So I'm there at the lights, and there is no right hand lane, I'm just on the wrong side of the road."
Colson admitted the danger they faced: "Bus coming towards us and I'm like s***."
He revealed the risky manoeuvre they made: "He had to jump a red light so we didn't go head-on with a bus. It was chaos."
Ben joked the pair made it sound like Jack "has never been to Leeds" before. And while Jack, 37, confessed he grew up in the city, he explained "all my driving has been in Manchester" and that he left Yorkshire as a teenager.
