Coleen Nolan candidly discussed her recent health struggles on Loose Women this week. The 59-year-old presenter opened up about the stress-related skin condition she's been facing which began during the festive season.
The condition was then exacerbated by the grief of losing her sister Linda Nolan to cancer six weeks ago at the age of 65, reports the Mirror. On the ITV programme, Coleen shared with her fellow panellists that she has been dealing with eczema, a condition that can cause dry and itchy skin. An expert attributed this to her being "very stressed".
She also mentioned that she will be getting some moles and skin tags examined in light of her condition. During a segment on dermatology, Coleen reminded viewers that she had previously received treatment for a carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanomas on her face, noting that these were likely due to childhood sunburns.

She said: "They've told me [the latter] is from childhood. Being burnt in childhood. It's quite common in people of our age and above, because, like you say, back in the day, we weren't clued up as much about skin care. But I also know that with stress and ... I mean, my skin has gone insane."
Denise Welch chimed in with support, acknowledging Coleen's significant stress, to which Coleen responded: "I've been covered in ... I got a terrible rash all round my middle and it went up my shoulders. And it was so sore and so itchy."
Coleen opened up about a recent health scare that led her to seek out a dermatologist, sharing with her colleagues on the show: "I'm thinking 'what is this?' And it was all over Christmas and New Year, then obviously when Linda passed. And I went to the dermatologist and he's like 'yeah it's eczema'."
She added that despite never having had eczema before, the specialist indicated stress was the likely culprit. Coleen said: "And I was like 'I've never had eczema in my life'. And he said 'no, but you're very stressed and the first place stress shows itself, or any condition, is on your skin'."
Looking ahead, Coleen discussed the need for further checks with her co-stars: "Now I've got to go and have a couple of things just kinda shaved, like moles and stuff, that they're gonna check out."
This revelation comes shortly after Coleen paid touching tribute to her late sister Linda on what would've been her birthday last Sunday (February 23). On Instagram, she posted a heartfelt video of them singing together and penned a moving caption: "To my beautiful sister ... think of you everyday, but especially today on your birthday ... I miss you so much and life won't be the same without you."
