Dr Amir Khan, a familiar face on ITV shows like Lorraine, This Morning, and Good Morning Britain, shared an update with his fans as he said he is "not happy at all". The GP, who juggles television appearances with medical practice, is also active on social media, where he offers medical advice and insights into his life with his 575,000 Instagram followers.
In a recent video post, Dr Amir jokingly said: "Happy bleedin' Valentine's Day". He then went on to playfully scold his fans by saying: "Right listen guys, I am not happy with you at all. You have made me late for everything today. I got up this morning on time, everything was going well, and then I was just inundated with Valentine's Day cards."
He continued the humour by comparing his situation to a famous scene from Harry Potter: "Where Hedwig and his mates are trying to deliver Hogwarts letters to Harry Potter where he lives with his aunt and uncle? ... and they can't get through so they just keep sending more and more? It was like that."
Dr Amir added: "I couldn't get out the house. I had to apologise to the postman and the neighbours." Captioning the humorous post, he said: "Honestly you guys are just too much [heart emoji]"
Many of his followers expressed their enjoyment of the post, with one sharing their own experience with a sense of humour: "I feel your pain you can't get out our front door for Valentine cards either [cry-laughing emojis]. Amir you really are absolutely wonderful you never fail to bring sunshine even on the darkest of days."
A second said: "It's so hard being loved so much" while a third chimed in with: "Oh you've made my day absolutely love this post, anyway Happy Valentine's Day".
