Queen Camilla has joyfully announced the addition of a little four-legged friend to the Royal household. The new emerged during her engagement at Kent Cathedral where she met with members of the public.
The Queen revealed the happy news as she affectionately stroked a guide dog while meeting the partially-sighted museum group in the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge located in the centre of Canterbury’s bustling high street, reports the Express. Bending down to stroke Fergie the labrador the Queen remarked about how “affectionate” they are.
She told Fergie's owner, Susan Mason, who is partially-sighted: “I’ve just got a new puppy, he’s eight-weeks old. [He's] a bit of everything. Its a rescue dog. Its called Moley - it looks just like a mole.”

The news comes as a silver lining following the loss of her much loved Jack Russell terrier, Beth, in the latter part of last year. The consort to King Charles, who champions animal welfare through her patronage of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Queen Camilla has not disclosed whether Moley was directly adopted from a shelter.
After the Moley revelation, Fergie's owner Ms Mason revealed why her dog had its name. She said that her puppy was named after Sarah Ferguson and often calls her “the Duchess”.
Elsewhere, the Queen's love of dogs was evident when she first entered the Special Exhibition’s Gallery during her tour of Beaney. Upon entry, she made a beeline for a different guide dog, Ralph. Stroking him, she said: “He looks very happy, he can probably smell my dogs.”
